1951

1952

1954

1960

1970

Plaskolite empieza a fabricar láminas acrílicas finas para contrapuertas y ventanas: son mucho más seguras que las láminas de vidrio.

1974

Plaskolite construye su primera planta de polímeros, que nos permite producir nuestros propios granulados para la producción de láminas.

1994

Con la adquisición de MIR-ACRYL, Plaskolite empieza a producir láminas acrílicas con acabado de espejo, espejos de seguridad y productos con láminas acrílicas con recubrimiento duro.

1996

Plaskolite adquiere Continental Acrylics, una empresa de polímeros especiales.

1997

La adquisición de la empresa de láminas finas RAM PRODUCTS permite a Plaskolite iniciar la producción de 19 colores de acrílico espejo.

2000

En agosto, Plaskolite finaliza la construcción de unas vanguardistas instalaciones de 22 761 sq. m. aproximadamente en Zanesville, Ohio.

2006

Plaskolite adquiere Bunker Plastics, un fabricante líder de espejos de policarbonato, espejos de seguridad formados y de transporte y recubrimientos plásticos para la mejora del rendimiento.

2007

Plaskolite adquiere la división de procesado continuo de láminas acrílicas de Lucite International, que incluye las plantas de fabricación de Olive Branch, Mississippi y Monterrey, México.

2012

Plaskolite compra a Bayer MaterialScience LLC la línea norteamericana de láminas de PETG.

2014

Plaskolite adquiere la línea de producto de plancha de espejo

Plaskolite Acquires the Profile Lighting Business of Rotuba Extruders, Inc.

North America’s Leading manufacturer of thermoplastic sheet expands its lighting product portfolio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (julio 2, 2018) – Plaskolite LLC, North America’s largest manufacturer of plastic sheet products, announced today that it has acquired Rotuba Extruders, Inc.’s profile lighting business. Rotuba is the leader in the Custom Extruded Profile segment of the lighting industry.

As a part of the transaction, Plaskolite is acquiring Rotuba’s manufacturing operations in Linden, New Jersey. The closing is effective as of junio 30, 2018. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Plaskolite’s acquisition of the Rotuba Profiles Lighting business expands Plaskolite’s already thriving Profiles business and positions the company as the clear leader in the Profiles Lighting segment.  Adam Bell, Rotuba’s President, will stay on to lead the Plaskolite Rotuba Profiles business.

“Rotuba has been extruding custom profiles for more than 60 years and is the leading supplier in the LED Lighting segment. This acquisition further strengthens our offering and our partnerships and allows us to rapidly develop extruded profiles to meet the demands of LED lighting,” said Mitchell Grindley, Plaskolite’s President and CEO.  “Adding Rotuba’s extensive custom extruded profile experience to the Plaskolite portfolio gives our customers the best and most extensive options available in the market.”

Founded in 1950 in Columbus, Ohio, by Donald G. Dunn and family, Plaskolite, LLC. is the largest North American manufacturer of thermoplastic sheet products. Plaskolite’s customized products are used in a wide variety of applications including windows, doors, lighting, signs, point-of-purchase displays and bath products. Plaskolite serves a diverse customer base including distributors, OEMs and retailers.

With this acquisition, Plaskolite will employ 1100 people in Columbus, Ohio; Zanesville, Ohio; Grand Saline, Texas; Compton, California; Olive Branch, Mississippi; Monterrey, Mexico; Memphis, Tennessee; Sheffield, Massachusetts; and Linden, New Jersey.
